Two Relatively Recommended Hot Pot AYCE Spots in Salt Lake City 🍲

1️⃣ OMBU Hot Pot First tried it around New Year’s 2020 — thought it was amazing. Came back three years later worried it might’ve closed… but not only is it still here, it’s even better now! More dishes, added cold appetizers, crab, seafood. They used to have only that super delicious sago dessert (the kind you could drink 10 bowls of 😂), but now they also have boba milk tea, herbal jelly, coconut sago, and various cold dishes — all tasty! Order via iPad, and you can ask for extra spice or beef tallow if the broth isn’t hot enough 😃😃😃 My favorite is still their sago dessert — after three years, it’s still the best, same familiar taste. They have crab, cold dishes — I’m not the biggest fan of their broth, but my husband loves it (he went twice in three days!). Me? I’m here for the sago hahaha ☺️☺️☺️ 2️⃣ Top Pot An AYCE spot with Korean BBQ, mini hot pot, and sushi for around $35.50 per person, or choose one style for $25–27. Good for travelers trying it once — you can order spicy broth (mild or medium). Secret tip: Their broth isn’t always consistent — sometimes great, sometimes not. If it’s off, ask to change it (I’ve had the same flavor taste different twice!). Their sashimi is fresh — recommend salmon and white tuna. We ordered a lot of sashimi; skip the rolls (they fill you up too fast). Cold dishes like chicken feet and pig ears are my favorites. Drinks are self-serve — Wanglaoji, pear tea, jasmine tea, etc. — plus ice cream. Seafood lovers, they have crab 🦀 — my husband loves crab, so it’s basically crab AYCE for him! The first time was amazing, second time just okay — maybe consistency is an issue. Probably not a spot to visit too often. Overall: Both are recommended, but still don’t beat Chicago hot pot. Next time I’ll write about Chicago hot pot! 🍲 #SaltLakeCityFood #HotPot #AYCE #SLCFood #FoodReview 🥢
