Uluh | Honest Food Review š½ļø
Ever since the East Village's Uluh opened, it's been super popular, but the reviews are mixed. š I was skeptical at first because restaurants that try to do a bit of everything often end up not doing anything well. But after my friend dragged me there, I have to say, it was pretty good. However, when we had a group dinner there later, the dishes were hit or miss. With so many options, ordering is quite a skill... Still, I recommend giving it a try, but make sure to read this review first! Must-Try Dishes: šø Spicy Boneless Pig's Feet: A must-order! Always a clean plate. Salted Egg Yolk Pumpkin Pudding: The combination is really amazing. šæ Steamed Fish in Shunde Style: So tender! Even a Cantonese person would approve. Rose Lychee Pudding: Delicious! A must-order. Passion Fruit Mango Mousse: Their desserts are generally pretty safe. Rose Oolong Milk Tea: Give it to me! It's a hundred times better than what you get at regular milk tea shops! šø Average Dishes: Crab Powder Tofu: Not authentic; mostly pumpkin, and the flavor is just okay. 8-Second Yellow Beef: I could probably make this at home. šæ Dry Pot Shredded Cabbage: I found it quite fragrant, but my friend thought it was just okay. Crispy Duck: A bit too salty, but the texture is indeed crispy. Soy Milk Bubble Tea: It has a few glutinous rice balls on top, but they don't add much flavor. Avoid These: š„ Salted Egg Yolk Char Siu: A Cantonese person can tell this char siu isn't up to par. š„ Brown Sugar Peking Duck: No no no, let's go to a specialized roast duck restaurant, shall we? š„ Chili Pepper and Chicken: Incredibly spicy, and I couldn't really taste anything else. š 152A 2nd Ave, New York, NY 10003 #NewYorkEats #NewYorkFood šš
