Unexpectedly Discovering the Beauty of Darwin 🌿

This is my second time in Darwin this month. Since the work is relatively light and completely under control, I can take it a bit easier. Plus, with no colleagues around, I don’t have to force myself into small talk with people I’m not close with after work. I’m staying at the Hilton Darwin again—my third time this year—and finally got to enjoy free breakfast and evening snacks at the executive lounge. šŸ³ā˜• This time, I finally had the chance to explore this remote northern city. Highly recommend visiting the Waterfront! 🌊 It feels completely different from the rest of Darwin—almost like it’s not even part of the city. Of course, it’s not comparable to big-city waterfront resorts, but it’s packed with restaurants and bars. Even on a Sunday night, most places were lively. Watching the sky slowly darken and the lights flicker on, the whole area suddenly transformed into a holiday vibe. Sometimes, you really need to adopt a tourist’s mindset to appreciate the hidden beauty of seemingly ordinary cities! After finishing work, my supplier generously treated me to dinner, and I chose Snapper Rocks at the Waterfront. šŸ½ļø A free meal—can’t complain! The food was decent, and I even got to try crocodile meat! 🐊 The ambiance was great, sitting near the bar with a sophisticated lounge vibe but without the noise of a typical bar. As for the price… well, not my concern! šŸ˜† At Snapper Rocks, of course, I had to order their signature Wild Caught Local Snapper with Thai-style papaya salad. The taste was okay, but personally, I prefer Barramundi—just a matter of preference. The Slow-Cooked Lamb Shoulder wasn’t my thing—it was a bit too dry, just ordinary lamb with charred veggies. Not recommended. The main reason I chose this place was for the crocodile meat—salt & pepper crocodile. It was tasty, but I couldn’t really distinguish the flavor. Some say crocodile meat "looks like fish but tastes like chicken"—sounds about right! The Spanish Seafood Paella was filled with frozen seafood, lacking freshness, and the rice was… well, typical Western-style paella. Edible, but nothing special. Overall, this restaurant wins on service and ambiance, plus it’s right next to the elevator entrance between the city and the Waterfront. As for the food… let’s just say we didn’t order the standout dishes. šŸ˜… #RestaurantRecommendations #Darwin #SnapperRocks #HiltonHotel #DarwinTravel #AustraliaDarwin šŸŒāœØ
