Upper Peninsula Michigan: 3-Day Fall Road Trip Guide 🍁👭🚗 (Part 1)

Day 1️⃣ 🚗 East Lansing → Sleeping Bear Dunes → Mackinaw City 🌄 Sleeping Bear Dunes: $25 per vehicle. A unique blend of sand dunes and lake views — pretty cool, but not mind-blowing if you’ve been to places like Dunhuang Mogao Caves or live in Florida like me 😂 Still a nice stop! 🍽️ The Chippewa Room: Cozy hunting-themed spot with great service. Recommended: Cajun Whitefish & Lasagna 🐟🍝 🏨 Mackinaw Beach & Bay Inn & Suites: Spacious, clean, with amazing sunrise views! 🌅 Day 2️⃣ 🚗 Mackinaw City → Tahquamenon Falls → Kitch-iti-Kipi → Pictured Rocks → Munising 🌄 Tahquamenon Falls: Upper & Lower Falls. You can drive or hike (4hr trail — skip unless you love hiking). Lower Falls rest area has great photo ops. Upper Falls has food trucks & live music — try the Apple Cider Slush! 🍎 🌄 Kitch-iti-Kipi: A small but stunning spring — “The Mirror of Heaven” 🌿💧 🌄 Pictured Rocks: Absolutely gorgeous! Sadly missed the Sunset Cruise — book early! 🚢 🍽️ Toby’s Dog House (Munising): Late-night fast food. Cheap, variety, long lines — decent but not special. 🌭 🏨 Pictured Rocks Inn & Suites: Not recommended 😬 Day 3️⃣ 🚗 Munising → St Ignace → Mackinac Island → Skybridge → East Lansing ❤️ Mackinac Island: Loved it so much I wrote a whole separate guide!
