🌉 Upstate New York Stops 4 & 5
🌉 Upstate New York Stops 4 & 5: Rochester + Buffalo 🚗 Arrived in Rochester in the evening, ready for a good meal. Scrolled through the map and found Super Crab Juicy Seafood platter—looked delicious! I chose 1 lb of lantern crab + 0.5 lb shrimp + juicy special sauce. The meat was fresh and plump, sauce was tasty—could taste butter, garlic, black pepper, other spices unsure. Asked the staff but they didn’t know the ingredients either—was hoping to secretly learn the recipe. My favorite part was the corn that came with it! With the sauce, it was absolutely amazing. 🦀🍤🌽 In Rochester, only visited the Toy Museum and George Eastman Museum. Loved a quote at the Toy Museum: “Play is the brain’s favorite way of learning.” Feel like kids really should have plenty of playtime in their childhood. 🧸🎨 GE was the founder of Kodak. He wanted his home to be a blend of life, work, and socializing, complete with gardens and a small farmhouse—pretty much my dream home. The museum offers two tours: 12:30 outdoor tour and 2:00 indoor tour. Due to time, I only joined the former. Fun little story: Eastman wanted to install a giant pipe organ at home, but lacking space, he sawed the middle section of the house and shifted it 2.7 meters. Just goes to show—having money is nice, huh? 🏡🎹 After the tour, grabbed a sandwich at the first-floor café. Just okay, $20—not recommended. 🥪💸 From Rochester to Buffalo is only about an hour. Really wanted to visit Eternal Flame Trail, like a save point in a game. Sadly, it was too far and luggage was an issue, had to skip it—a regret of this trip. 🔥🎮 Buffalo was just a short stop. Went to Anchor Bar to try their wings, said to be the birthplace of Buffalo wings. Very American vibe, bustling even at 5:30 PM. Ordered a portion of wings with medium sauce. The flavor leaned salty—personally, I prefer sweeter sauces. 🍗🧂🍯 #UpstateNY#RochesterNY#BuffaloNY#TravelNotes#FoodDiary
