USS Intrepid(1)
Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum: A Glimpse into the Might of Naval Power π π’π The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum is home to the USS Intrepid, a carrier that has seen its fair share of history. Commissioned in 1943, it first saw action in World War II, where it was hit by a torpedo once and endured five kamikaze attacks. π’π It later served in the Cold War and the Vietnam War, and was even requisitioned by NASA in the 1960s. Over 50,000 personnel served on board, with over 270 making the ultimate sacrifice. The ship was decommissioned in 1974. π’ β οΈThe carrier and its aircraft.
