📍Utah|New Store Up North|Ichiro Ramen 🍜
Finally, a new ramen shop has opened in our northern area! It’s located in the plaza right across from the only Costco in Davis County—great spot 🏬📍. We ordered the Tonkotsu Chashu Ramen 🍜 and Chicken Katsu Curry Rice 🍛. It was okay—similar to Ramen Haus in Farmington, pretty average. Not worth driving a long way for, but if you live nearby and don’t feel like cooking dinner, it’s a decent option 🥢. Perfect for a quick meal after shopping or hitting the nearby Davis County Recreation Center 🏋️♂️🛒. The owner is from Guangdong, and the interior is beautifully decorated with a private small room 🎎. I visited a month ago and was impressed by the ambiance. This time, however, the seat cushions were dirty, and the counter was cluttered with plastic bins and random items—which really took away from the vibe 😕. The Japanese-style counter itself is lovely, lined with stacked ramen bowls branded “Ichiro,” giving off strong Jinya Ramen vibes 🍥✨. This seems to be a common issue with many Chinese restaurants—they often start with great decor and potential but fall short on details. Counters and cooking areas end up cluttered with sauce packets, disposable chopstick boxes, and other杂物, which cheapens the visual experience 🧹🚫. In comparison, Japanese restaurants—and Western ones even more so—keep such things neatly hidden away. I say this with a bit of frustration because I truly feel for our fellow entrepreneurs overseas 🌍❤️. We’re past the era of “hole-in-the-wall” eateries. When you invest so much into a new place, it’s a shame to see it held back by overlooked details. #LifeAbroad #MyLifeOverseas #DocumentingLifeAbroad #Alone #SoloButNotLonely #TimeForOneself #EatWellEvenAlone #DiningSolo #SoloRomance #SaltLakeCity #SLCFood #SaltLakeEats #Utah #LifeInSLC #FoodReview #WeekendEats #SLCFoodReview #MyFoodDiary #FoodShare #FoodieUSA #Inspiration #UtahFood #WeekendPlans #DailyFood #NewInSLC #MyStoryWithThisPlace
