Vancouver's Most Stunning Oceanview Restaurants Vol.

As a foodie who prioritizes aesthetics above all else, I'm constantly searching for Vancouver's most photogenic dining spots - and oceanview restaurants always win my heart. On a Saturday in early June, I visited Blue Canoe at Steveston Fisherman's Wharf with friends. We called ahead to reserve for seven, requesting patio seating - only to be told it's first-come-first-served. Arriving right at opening (11:30am), we discovered the patio was closed due to strong winds! 😂 Still, we could enjoy the view from the doorway. The wooden boardwalk, glittering Fraser River estuary, fishing boats gliding by, and distant snow-capped mountains created a postcard-perfect scene. The gently swaying vessels seemed to whisper stories of this maritime city, while sunlight filtered through gray clouds carrying that distinctive salty ocean breeze. We scored a prime window table inside where we could still admire the shimmering water. First up: their legendary 🦀 Seafood Tower (three-tiered!). Snow crab legs, spot prawns, oysters, smoked salmon, tuna tartare, scallops, mussels... it was like the Pacific Ocean's bounty on a platter! Five different oyster dipping sauces came with bread and fries. When the tower arrived, our group (admittedly easily impressed) lost all composure - "So fancy!" was the most eloquent praise we could muster. 🦪 The kids stuck to classics: burger+fries for my brother, while my sister's poutine (with that glorious gravy pour moment) stole the show. The lobster pasta? Flawless execution. Our server recommended the chicken bestseller (roasted with green beans, carrots, and potatoes) - everything except the chicken was delicious, especially those potatoes. Should've gone for fried chicken instead. The salad emerged as dark horse - grilled steak cubes and avocado elevating tired greens. But the cappuccino? Major letdown in both looks and taste. Two randomly chosen cocktails pleasantly surprised (I always order unfamiliar ones). We'd also requested their famous seafood chowder that never arrived - guess that's reason to return! Our servers - a charmingly shy boy and a radiant girl - looked straight out of a rom-com. I know, I know... I'll be back. Next time on that patio, dining from golden hour through twilight as boats return and harbor lights dance on darkening waters. (Who'll join me for this picture-perfect sequel? 🤣) #VancouverOceanviewDining #StevestonWharf #WeekendVibes #SeasideEscapes #100RestaurantsChallenge #DateNightGoals
