Vancouver Dining Diary

I've been too busy to update my dining diary for the past two weeks πŸ₯ΉπŸ₯Ή, so I'm continuing to organize and record the meals I've had in Vancouver. 1️⃣ Figure 2 Katsu San 🌟🌟🌟🌟 πŸ“6011 No 1 Rd Unit #110, Richmond Figure 3 Saku 🌟🌟🌟🌟 πŸ“ 548 W Broadway, Vancouver / 1588 Robson St, Vancouver Both are quite famous Japanese pork cutlet rice shops (but the owner of Katsu seems to be Korean? πŸ€”), and you have to wait for over an hour during peak hours. Katsu's pork cutlet is juicier, and the pork cutlet patty is softer; Saku gives more quantity, and the meat texture is tighter (btw, Saku's miso soup is much better). You can also order Nabe at Saku (Figure 3), which is pork cutlet paired with onion egg soup, and the soup base is similar to sukiyaki, which is more suitable for family members who don't like dry fried pork cutlets (once again btw, be careful with the cheese set at these two shops, as shown in Figure 2, the pork cutlet part is very thin, basically all cheese filling, and it's easy to get tired after two bites). 2️⃣ Figure 4-5 You Xiang 🌟🌟🌟🌟 πŸ“ 4651 Garden City Rd #1110, Richmond A Taiwanese-style fast food shop next to Garden City, which I often order braised pork rice from when I don't know what to eat after work, sometimes adding a serving of mixed salted crispy chicken (Figure 4), but I like their fried sweet and spicy chicken and sweet potato strips more. Their signature dish is the Angelica lamb hot pot, which gives a generous amount of lamb, and the slightly bitter taste of angelica in the soup base is quite obvious, which I like because it can suppress the smell of mutton (friends who don't like the taste of Chinese medicine can't drink it at all). 3️⃣ Figure 6 Yi Bao 🌟🌟🌟🌟 πŸ“ 1316 W 73rd Ave, Vancouver A popular Malaysian flying noodles, which I don't go to often, but it's quite worth trying; the noodles have a texture similar to fried instant noodles and become soft after soaking in the soup for a long time, absorbing more flavor; the ingredients include shrimp, scallops, and Arctic clams, and the fresh sweetness of seafood is quite obvious, similar to fried seafood noodles. Among other dishes, the deep-fried fermented bean curd meat left a deep impression on me; it's a bit sweet, fragrant but not too strong. 4️⃣ Figure 7 Nana's Green Tea 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 πŸ“ 2135 W 41st Ave, Vancouver My favorite matcha shop in Vancouver (for now), their matcha/baked tea is not too sweet, and the tea flavor is also heavier. The only problem is that parking on 41st Street is really difficult πŸ₯². I like the matcha jelly in the matcha parfait the most, with a QQ smooth texture. #Vancouver #VancouverFood #Richmond #CanadianLife #Food #DailyGourmet #MyFoodDiary
