Vancouver | Go See the Fall Colors of Mt. Cheam⛰️
On the first day of the long weekend, we took advantage of the beautiful weather to hike Mt. Cheam. The timing was perfect—the grass had already started turning red, and the mountain was bursting with color 🍂🍁. The initial stretch was lined with beautiful wildflowers 🌸! The only downside to this trail is how challenging it is to reach. There’s about 10 kilometers of road that requires a high-clearance 4x4 vehicle 🚙. The road has many continuous puddles, making it feel like driving over a washboard! 🛤️💦 Without good suspension, the ride might be pretty uncomfortable. The last 3 kilometers have two large ruts that are quite difficult to navigate. It’s best to put your 4x4 in low mode for this section. I found this road more challenging than the one to Brandywine Meadows. So be careful to avoid bottoming out or tipping over. It took us over an hour to complete this rough stretch 🚗💨. Just navigate to Mt. Cheam to reach the trailhead. The trail is about 9.5 km round trip with a 700-meter elevation gain. The start is relatively flat, but after passing the small lake, it's uphill all the way. Bringing trekking poles would make it much easier 🏞️⛰️. Most of the trail has no shade, but you can enjoy views of Mt. Baker throughout 🏔️. At the summit, the wind picks up, but you get a 360-degree view 🌬️🌄. Including rest and photo stops, the hike took us about 5 hours ⏳📸. In summary, the scenery is truly amazing! Highly recommended if you can make it! #Vancouver #VancouverHiking #VancouverLife #OffRoad #Hiking #OutdoorAdventure #Trekking #MyHikingDiary #HealingThroughHiking #TrailRecommendations
