Vancouver Trip|A 4-Star Hotel This Ridiculous? 😤
🏨 Hotel Belmont Vancouver MGallery I’ve always believed that while traveling, you don’t need the most expensive hotel—just a clean and comfortable one. So I picked this 4-star hotel, checked tons of real guest photos beforehand, and thought: "The room looks decent!" But then... where did it go wrong? 🚨 The Issues 1️⃣ Sketchy Location Followed GPS to the hotel, only to find the alley next to it filled with zombies (aka addicts). Even the short walk from the parking lot reeked of weed. 2️⃣ Chaotic Check-In A staff member told us to "sit and wait to be called." But when it was our turn, they ignored us—another guest cut in line. After 10 mins of confusion, we finally got to the counter. 3️⃣ Credit Card Drama They demanded a credit card under the guest’s name (unheard of in my travels!). My card is under my mom’s name, and it was 3 AM in China—no way to contact her. After arguing, they "allowed" a debit card (which has no name in Canada). Sigh. 4️⃣ Breakfast? More Like Barely-Edible. Tried their breakfast once—never again. The selection was pathetic, and the food was bland. I survived on fruit alone. 5️⃣ No Hot Water for 24 Hours! On night 3, the shower had NO hot water. Called front desk—they said they’d send someone. An hour later, nothing. Called again: "Oh, the whole hotel has no hot water. No ETA. Sorry not sorry." It only came back the next day. 6️⃣ Random Critter Alert Bonus: A mystery insect fell from the ceiling (see pic). 🪳 7️⃣ Deposit Refund Confusion After checkout, they texted: "Refund failed!" But my bank showed the money was back. They then said "Never mind, no need to return." ??? 💡 The Only Positives: Free slippers & toiletries upon request. Two free drink vouchers (4–6 PM)—though choices were just wine or beer. #Canada #Vancouver #HotelHorrorStories #AvoidThisHotel #TravelFails #MGallery #VancouverRant
