Vegas Food Explore|888 Sushi and Robata
⚠️ Warning: Rant ahead (lol) A new cash-grab spot under the 888 brand — came because family wanted to try. Went for the top tier: $45 per person. 🍣 Salmon Sushi: Please swipe to see the slightly blurry salmon sashimi in the distance — LIMITED! No fat marbling at all — what kind of diet salmon is this? I eat sushi without soy sauce, but this salmon was hard and chewy — not fishy, not flavorful… I didn’t know what I was eating 😭 Thank god for yuzu kosho saving the bite. While complaining, a friend sent a photo of her salmon that day — slightly better, but still not great. 🦐 Sweet Shrimp: Looked… interesting. Said to be raw, but the color and texture felt half-cooked. 🇺🇳 Uni (Sea Urchin): From the familiar “Santabarbara” (lol) — understandable for the price. Some pieces had a funky, fishy smell. 🧅 Basically every dish was topped with oily fried onion strips, garlic chips, sesame oil, mayo — super filling and heavy. 🍢 Eel Skewer: Pre-grilled, semi-processed — still tough and chewy. 🥩 Wagyu Beef Skewer: Fatty, but zero beef aroma — just greasy. 🍨 Green Tea & Vanilla Ice Cream (included in the $45) — I laughed when it arrived. What is this minty flavor?? I ordered plain green tea — got a split scoop. The wasabi on the side tasted more like green tea than this did — overly milky and artificial. ⏱️ 90 minutes total — we were ready to check out after just 30 mins of ordering. At this price point, you could get much better sushi elsewhere. Maybe the BBQ could hide the quality issues, but sushi… no. (By the way — I even color-corrected the photos. So generous! The menu photos look great, though 😂) All opinions are my own, non-expert, amateur take 🙇♀️ #LasVegas #VegasEats #Vegas #VegasRestaurants #VegasLocalFood 🍣🤔
