Vegas Revisited: Buffets, Outlets & That Overpriced Sphere Show
Been to Vegas way too many times, but this was my first post-pandemic trip. Drove from LA at night (5 grueling hours with a buddy—why did we do this? 😴). 🍽️ Day 1: The Great Buffet Letdown Wynn Buffet ($65/person): Brunch before 1PM / "Seafood" after (aka the Crab Leg Stampede 🦀). Verdict: Not worth the 1-hour wait. Crab tasted like salty rubber. Outlets: Tiny and underwhelming. Spent 20 mins hunting for the ON store (apparently the Vegas souvenir of 2023?). 🥩 Day 2: Steak Disappointment & Dog Treat Haul Peter Luger (NY’s "famous" steakhouse): Ordered Steak for Two (after In-N-Out, so already full 🤡). Bread was a red flag—steak was... fine? Winner of the meal: Free gold chocolate coins. 🏆 (Still dreaming about that Mexican prime steak spot...) Trader Joe’s Detour: Went for snacks, left with $300 of dog treats 🐕 (human snacks too heavy to carry). Hand cream? Sold out. Classic. 🌐 Night 2: The Sphere Hype Train Derails Postcard from Earth ($100+ ticket): Bought on(watch for hidden fees—we got scammed for $25 extra). Parking fee wasted (could’ve walked). Verdict: "Meh" with extra steps. Cool tech, zero soul. 🔥 Survival Tips for Vegas in 100°F (40°C) Heat: Strip "highlights" (if you must): Statue of Liberty 🗽, M&M’s World 🫘, Coca-Cola Store 🥤, Bellagio fountains ⛲. Skip if you’ve been before (we did). Final Tally: ✅ Overpriced buffet ✅ Underwhelming steak ✅ $300 dog treats ✅ A sphere-shaped disappointment #LasVegas #USTravel #USATourism
