Venice | A Taste of Local Pasta in the City of Water 🍝🌊
The restaurant, Trattoria Antiche Carampane, served the best meal I had in Venice, arguably the top 1 restaurant in Italy. Venetian cuisine is quite distinct from other regions in Italy, with a heavy emphasis on fresh fish and a touch of Mediterranean flavors. This Trattoria Antiche Carampane is highly praised on Reddit, and we made a reservation through their official website. ❤️ La tradizione We started with a platter of seasonal seafood, which included marinated anchovies and crab meat. The seafood was incredibly fresh, requiring minimal seasoning as its natural flavors were more than sufficient. ❤️ Spaghetti in “Cassopippa” Their seafood pasta was a revelation, completely different from the white sauce pasta I've had elsewhere. It relied on the natural freshness of the seafood for flavor, with the pasta cooked to perfection and paired with sweet scallops, a true delight for the palate. ❤️ Frittura di Scampi e Calamari Fried shrimp and squid. The fried squid I've had in the US was always made from frozen seafood, with the batter separating from the squid. But the fried squid here made me realize how delicious fresh seafood can be when fried properly. If you're a seafood lover, don't miss this restaurant in Venice. It offers a unique flavor distinct from the Tuscan-style pasta you're used to, with the city's own special touch. The service from the waitstaff was not the best, which seems to be the norm in Italy, but if you're used to the attentiveness of American waiters, it might take some getting used to. #ItalianCuisine #RestaurantRecommendations #HiddenGemRestaurants #AtmosphereRestaurants #FeastForTheSenses #UnforgettableFoodExperience #Italy
