Venice is So Sunny 😭 A Half-Day Trip is More Than Enough!
🇮🇹 Back again after a year!! 🛬 Took a direct China Eastern flight to Venice, landed punctually at 6:30 AM local time. Not many people at customs, took about 40 minutes to get out of the airport. 🏨 Took advice and booked a hotel near Venice Mestre Station. 🚗 Took an Uber to the hotel – 15 minutes, €50. Dropped off the luggage and immediately rushed to the main island 🚄 Took the train directly to Santa Lucia Station, then followed 's route and walked for over three hours, all the way from the train station to St. Mark's Square. 🫠 Gotta say, the Italian sun is brutal… My face, neck, and arms got completely sunburned, and I almost got heatstroke 💀 By the time I reached St. Mark's Square, I couldn't walk anymore. Hopped directly onto the Blue Line water bus at the nearby Ferry Stop and leisurely rode back to Santa Lucia Station – finally some relief! ‼️ Important note ⚠️ Don’t trust Google Maps if it tells you to go back to Rialto to take Water Bus Line 1 or 2 back to Santa Lucia Station. You can take it directly from St. Mark's Square (specifically called San Marco Vallaresso ACTV Fermata/Stop) – the line is the Blue Line (full route map 8: Railway Station to Airport, where Railway Station means Santa Lucia). 🍱 Back at the hotel, I ordered Chinese food + bubble tea, ate while watching variety shows, happily getting ready to adjust to the time zone~ ✨ Gotta give a shoutout to the location of Best Western Plus Hotel Bologna – plenty of Chinese restaurants and bubble tea spots nearby, really perfect for adjusting on the first day after landing. 📝 Venice… I came here eight years ago, and revisiting today, the feeling is still the same: you’d regret not coming, but you might also regret coming. #Venice #Italy #VeniceTravel 🇮🇹✨
