Venice Travel Guide (Foodie Edition!) 🚢🇮🇹
Finally wrote down my long-promised Venice travel guide (still lazy to sort out the Florence one… wait for me 😜) 🦑 Unnamed Restaurant near Chiesa di San Polo: On my last day in Venice, I met Qinyin at the hostel, and we grabbed our final meal together. In a hurry and craving Venice’s famous squid ink pasta, we randomly picked a small shop near the carousel to the left of Chiesa di San Polo. We ordered a seafood platter and squid ink pasta — and it did NOT disappoint! 🎯 The seafood was fresh and generously portioned, and the pasta was perfectly savory with no fishy taste! 🖤🍝 📍 Look for small eateries around San Polo! ☕ Caffè Florian: Established in 1720, it’s Venice’s oldest café with over 300 years of history! Its name means “Flower God,” hence it’s also known as “Florian Café.” Yes, I paid €12 for a cappuccino… the most expensive coffee I’ve ever had 🙃💸 🦐 Acqua e Mais: Another random find when we were super hungry. This fried seafood spot was just okay — tastes fine when hot, but gets a bit dry when cool. Not my top recommendation 😐 🍦 Gelato Fantasy San Marco 2: Originally wanted to try the highly recommended “Gelato artigianale dal 1985” but couldn’t find it. Stumbled upon this place instead — got pistachio and mango flavors. Both were super rich and creamy! 😍 (PS: Honestly, most gelato shops in Italy are amazing!!) 🥩 Trattoria alla rivetta San Marco: Since I was traveling solo, I only ordered two dishes: mixed veggies and a medium-well steak (forgot to take a pic 😅). The veggies were light, and the steak was tender and not gamey — overall pretty good! 👍 🍝 Bepe Bigoi Venezia: A handmade pasta specialty shop 🎁 They serve boxed pasta with super rich and flavorful sauces — loved it! And guess what? Student discount available! 🎒💶 Also noted down some cute clothing/accessory shops and other tasty spots during my solo trip! 🥯🧇🥗🥘 Will share more next time! #Europe #Italy #Foodie #Venice #VeniceTravel #VeniceFood #SoloTravel 🍴✨
