Verona City Walk | Two Walking Routes
😍A very relaxed itinerary of a day and a half, I visited the main attractions of Verona's old town without buying tickets to enter (it didn't seem particularly necessary), so it was quite cost-effective. It's also totally fine to compress it into one day; I mainly wanted to avoid the hottest time of the day (took a nap). 🧩Old town check-in points: ❣️- Ponte di Castelvecchio - Arena di Verona - Amphitheater (you can buy tickets to watch performances, but I was too lazy to go as it felt similar to the Roman Colosseum, just smaller) - Casa di Giulietta - Juliet's House (if you just want to see the small balcony and Juliet’s bronze statue, there's no need to buy a ticket. The queue is quite long, so I went in the morning when it opened, which was okay) ❣️- Piazza delle Erbe - Complesso del Duomo di Verona - Castel San Pietro - The viewing platform on the hill, a must-see! The best viewpoint in the city! (For details, see my previous note) ⚠️The above-mentioned sights aren't necessarily a must-see; they mainly help everyone sort out and connect the city walk routes. I call this the Old Town Walking Route. 😍Another walking route that I really like is along the north bank of the Adige River. There's a riverside path that roughly goes from Ponte di Castelvecchio to Ponte Pietra, where you can admire the old town's riverside architecture across the river. This route has very few people, and the light is nice in the afternoon approaching evening (the old town is well lit), and it feels very comfortable just wandering around. I call this the Riverside Walking Route. 🧩Overall, Verona isn’t large, and there aren’t any must-do tasks; it’s quite nice to just stroll leisurely. 😍By the way, if you happen to pass by, you could also try the 85-year-old traditional Gelato ice cream from Gelateria Savoia Verona. I think it tastes a bit better than other ice cream shops with similar ratings on Google Maps. However, if the queue is too long, it's not necessary; a short five-minute wait is okay. #Travel #Verona #Travel Tips #Verona Italy
