Verona Travel Guide 🇮🇹 | Discovering the Real Italy
I wrote this guide because most online itineraries feel too generic—here’s my real take on this enchanting city. 1. Transportation 🚂 Milano Centrale → Verona Porta Nuova Bought round-trip tickets (€12) from Polimi’s train machine—slightly slower than the €20+ option, but a steal! Pro tip: Get the earliest/latest trains if you want max exploring time. 2. The Perfect Route 🗺️ (see last photo!) 🚉 Train Station → Arena & Surroundings → Castelvecchio Museum → Juliet’s House → Castel San Pietro 2.1 Train Station Skip buses/trams—Verona is tiny! A 20-min walk drops you near the center. Soak in the vibe. 2.2 Verona Arena 🏟️ Visited on a Sunday: stumbled upon a ceremonial parade. Italy actually uses its heritage (unlike places that just "preserve" it). 2.3 Castelvecchio Museum (SCARPA’S MASTERPIECE!) ✨ My FAVORITE spot. Every step reveals insane details—opulent exhibits, layered history, and Carlo Scarpa’s genius architecture. Download the free PDF guide at the entrance. Architecture students? Show your acceptance letter + student ID for free entry! The castle rooftop offers a breathtaking view of the Fiume River—especially magical when the sun peeks out. 2.4 Juliet’s House 💌 Skipped it, but the surrounding streets are peak Italian charm. 2.5 Castel San Pietro 🌇 The ultimate sunset spot! (Photos 1 & 2 don’t lie.) Each stair climb unveils a new panorama. We lingered on the terrace with Aperol spritzes from the bar, soaking in the romance. At golden hour, the sky turned cotton-candy pink—paired with distant violin music… chef’s kiss. 3. Food 🍝 MUST-EAT: Macafame This restaurant reignited my love for Italian food! Ordered pasta + pizza (€13/person)—unreal flavors for the price. 4. Final Thoughts 💬 Spent the day with my roommate, a Japanese classmate, and an Iranian friend (non-stop English convos, lol). Verona? Absolute magic. I’ll be back! #Verona #RealItaly #HiddenGems #ItalyTravel #AperolSunset
