🚆 Vietnam | Nha Trang 🚆
Arrived in Nha Trang after a night on the sleeper train from Da Nang. The soft sleeper was akin to the old green trains in China, clattering all the way, and we pulled into Nha Trang at 8:30 am. Given the poor sleep, the plan for the day was to visit the Po Nagar Cham Towers, the beach, and a spa. After checking into the hotel and having breakfast, it was time to head to the Po Nagar Cham Towers. The site is quite small, featuring just a group of sculptures and two temples—one with a linga and yoni, and the other with a deity (the name escapes me). It was out in half an hour. Both in Da Nang and Nha Trang, there were many Korean tourist groups, and the Korean women were incredibly photogenic, fair and slender. Found a well-reviewed French restaurant, La Vila, online and took a taxi there to check out the menu. It seemed more Russian than French, as if the management had changed. However, with the "when in Rome" attitude, we ordered, and the value for money was decent. After that, we searched online for a well-regarded spa, VSpa, and decided to stroll along the coastline to aid digestion. The sea in Nha Trang seemed bluer than in Da Nang, perhaps due to the weather, with more swimmers, but the sand on the beach was much coarser, even a bit prickly. There was also a sculpture of a man holding a bamboo stick, but I'm not sure of its story. After walking for more than half an hour, we found that the spa was closed, feeling that it wasn't a good day for outings. We then switched to the highly praised Sen Spa. The service was indeed attentive, and there was no chatting or upselling throughout the process. Despite choosing a deep muscle massage with a strong touch, I slept soundly and felt very relaxed afterward, with my shoulders and back feeling much better. The spa also offered transportation to certain designated spots afterward. On the way back in the evening, we saw many Russian sailors who seemed to be staying in a nearby hotel. Has Vietnam really been taken over by the Russians from the French? 🤔 #NhaTrang #NhaTrangTravel #VietnamTravel #VietnamTourism #PoNagarChamTowers
