Vietnam National Heritage Site Vĩnh Tràng Pagoda
Vĩnh Tràng Pagoda (Vietnamese: Chùa Vĩnh Tràng) is located in Mỹ Phong, Mỹ Tho City, in the Mekong Delta region of southern Vietnam. It is a well-known Buddhist temple and a popular tourist destination, currently serving as the headquarters of the Tiền Giang Province Buddhist Association. The construction of Vĩnh Tràng Pagoda began in the mid-19th century, overseen by the couple of Magistrate and his wife. The first abbot was Master Thích Từ Lâm from Bửu Lâm Pagoda. After s death, the project was continued by Abbot Thích Huệ Đăng, and the pagoda was finally completed in 1850. Before the New Year, I visited this place alone, ambitiously praying to Buddha, Guanyin, and all the bodhisattvas for n+1 wishes, each one revolving around "health and well-being."
