wansea ~ My Favorite UK City
I visited Swansea last New Year's Day π, and today I'm feeling nostalgic so here goes! When I first arrived in the UK, I met someone studying at Swansea University π, and ever since then, I'd been dreaming of going. Swanseaβwhich translates to "Swan's Sea" π¦’πβis such a poetic name for this gem of a coastal city in Wales π΄ (where they even have their own language - say "Diolch!" to blend in π). The train from London π takes about four hours - perfect for a mini roadtrip playlist! I spent three magical days there: Day 1: Explored the city center ποΈ. Almost all the attractions are along one street (easy peasy!), and our hotelβVillage Hotelβwas super close. 5/5 stars! βββββ Only Β£20 for two people, with a spacious room, two comfy beds ποΈποΈ, a sofa AND TV πΊ. Absolute steal for the UK! Day 2: Took an early bus π to Rhossili Bay (aka heaven on earth π). Only one bus goes there from the city center (~1hr+ rideβcheck the timetable tho, it's not frequent! β°). After getting off, follow the path along the cliffs (watch your step for sheep poop ππ©, lol!). But OMG the view? Mind-blowing! π€― The dramatic cliffs meeting the endless sea gave me all the feels - so different from back home! Got back around 2 PM β³ and refueled at a Chinese restaurant (name's fuzzy but it's next to Joe's Ice Cream π¦- a Welsh MUST!). The roast duck π¦ was decent (not China-level but hits the spot!). Day 3: Blissful walk along Swansea Bay π (could've sat on those benches with someone special forever ππ), then wandered through a park π³ to Swansea University π (may or may not have snuck in to charge my phone π±π). Before leaving, I spotted the most elegant elderly lady π΅ at a cafΓ© near the station - total stylegoals! Why Swansea stole my heart: Charming & laid-back π (no big-city stress!) That INCREDIBLE coastline ποΈ (Rhossili + Swansea Bay = pure magic β¨) Wallet-friendly π· (rare for UK travel - we love to see it!) #UKTravel #SwanseaLove #Wales #HiddenGems #BudgetTravel #Wanderlust
