Waterloo’s Hong Kong Flavors
Just got back to Waterloo from Hong Kong, and my craving for Hong Kong - style roasted meat hit me like a wave 🌊. Those tender char siu, crispy roasted duck, and flavorful marinated meats I had there were still lingering in my memory, making my stomach growl non - stop. I couldn't stand it anymore! I grabbed my bag and rushed to the local Hong Kong - style roasted meat shop right away ⚡. The moment I pushed open the door, the rich aroma of roasted meat mixed with the scent of special sauces hit my nose. It was so familiar and satisfying, just like what I smelled in Hong Kong. I ordered a big portion of char siu and some marinated pork belly without hesitation 🥢. As I took the first bite of the char siu, its sweetness and juiciness spread in my mouth. The meat was so tender that it melted easily, and that familiar taste instantly soothed my homesick (for Hong Kong food) heart. I really miss this taste so much!
