Weekend City Walk in Jena - My First Impressions! 🌄✨

I finally made it to Jena for the first time this weekend, and wow—what a charming little city! As soon as I stepped off the train, I noticed mountains surrounding the town from every direction, bathing in golden sunlight. ☀️ The whole place had this peaceful, unhurried vibe that immediately made me relax—no big-city chaos here! Why Jena is Perfect for a Slow Weekend 🚶‍♀️🍃 ✔ Compact & walkable - Easy to explore on foot in just a few hours ✔ Surrounded by nature - Those Thuringian hills are calling my name for next time! ✔ Quaint but lively - Historic buildings mixed with student-friendly cafés I spent hours just wandering: Stumbled upon tiny bookshops with handwritten recommendations Found a hidden courtyard café where locals sipped coffee in the sun Admired how the light hit the old stone buildings in late afternoon Photo Ops Everywhere! 📸 The hilly landscape means you constantly get gorgeous elevated views of red rooftops and church spires. Perfect for: ➔ Wide-angle shots with the mountains as backdrop ➔ Candid street photos of daily life ➔ Golden hour selfies (that soft German light is magic!) Next Time? Hiking! ⛰️ I barely scratched the surface—next visit I'm definitely: ✅ Climbing up to Landgrafen viewpoint ✅ Exploring the forest trails along the Saale river ✅ Checking out the planetarium (Jena's famous for optics!) Final Thoughts Jena feels like the ideal German university town—small enough to feel cozy, but with enough culture and nature to keep things interesting. Already planning my return trip! #StudyInGermany #Jena #CityWalk #GermanCities #WeekendVibes #TravelGermany #UniversityTown #Wanderlust
