Weekend Getaway from Berkeley｜Alcatraz Island 🏝️⚓

This weekend, I joined some law school friends for a trip to Alcatraz Island in SF 😈 We boarded the ferry at Pier 33 and arrived in about 15 minutes ⛴️ The island has… a lot of flies! No wonder they handed out fans before boarding 🪭 Also tons of seagulls (and the smell is… strong 💩) Since we booked the night tour, we were treated to a stunning pink sunset 🌅🧡 The island isn’t very big—you can explore it all in around 2 hours 🚶‍♀️ 💡 Tips: 1️⃣ It’s windy on the ferry 🥶, but the view from the front is worth it—you can see the island and the SF skyline! Dress warmly. 2️⃣ Bring a mask 😷—it gets pretty smelly outside the prison area. 3️⃣ Grab a free audio guide in Chinese before entering the prison! The narration is immersive, with stories about inmates and sound effects 🎧🔊 4️⃣ The souvenir shop is fun! You can find fridge magnets with prison rules, spoons used by escapees 🤣, and more. 5️⃣ Wear something dark or edgy 😈!
