Weekend in Berkeley๏ฝTake the Ferry to SF for a Perfect City Walk ๐๐ข
The easiest way to have fun from Berkeley? Go to San Francisco! Last weekend, my sister (who lives in Oakland) took me and my roommate on a ferry to SF โ and we accidentally discovered the perfect city walk route! ๐ Step 1: Oakland Inner Harbor We took the bus (Berkeley student ID = free ride ๐๐) โ about 30 minutes to the harbor. โด๏ธ Step 2: Take the Ferry Use your Clipper card โ round trip ~$5 ๐ณ. Note: They might charge an extra $4.5 initially, but it gets refunded after you tap off! ๐ Step 3: Ferry Ride (~20 min) The views are stunning! Youโll see the SF skyline through the fog โ looks like mini NYC ๐๐ฝ. ๐ฎ Step 4: Ferry Building Farmers Market Lucky us โ it was the weekend farmers market! Full of fresh fruits, spices, veggies, and flowers ๐ธ๐. Grabbed a Blue Bottle coffee โ and soaked in the vibe. ๐ถ Step 5: Walk Toward Chinatown SF streets are full of surprises โ street artists, K-pop dancers (we saw a Chinese girl group killing it! ๐), and so much energy. ๐ Step 6: Lunch at R & G Lounge A Chinatown classic โ even Obama ate here! We ordered: Honey Walnut Shrimp ๐ค Salt & Pepper Pork Chop (must-try!!) Golden Fried Rice with Two Eggs ๐ณ BBQ Platter (tofu + beef โ so flavorful!) Huge portions โ 4 girls spent ~$30 each. No regrets ๐ญ๐. ๐๏ธ Step 7: Explore Chinatown Labubu has taken over even here ๐! Not much shopping for Chinese folks, but lots of cute, nostalgic shops. Itโs bigger than you think! ๐ธ Step 8: 890 California Street The famous Inception hill! ๐ข Steep, dramatic, and very Instagrammable. Lots of people taking photos โ and the light was perfect! โ๏ธ ๐ Step 9: Optional Cable Car to Fishermanโs Wharf If you still have energy, take the cable car from Powell St to Fishermanโs Wharf ๐๐. But honestlyโฆ we were tired by then. Save it for another day! Such a fulfilling day โ you get to see both the glamorous and everyday sides of SF. When the sun is out, itโs impossible not to fall in love with this city ๐. Canโt wait to go back when I have no classes! Translation & Localization Notes: Added expressive emojis to enhance visual appeal and match the lively tone. Kept key names in English (e.g., Clipper card, Blue Bottle) for clarity. Simplified some descriptions for readability while retaining cultural references (e.g., Labubu, Obamaโs visit). Structured the post with clear steps and highlights for easy following. #BerkeleyToSF #SanFrancisco #CityWalk #FerryRide #ChinatownSF #TravelGuide
