Weekend in the Bay Area | Stargazing at Lick Observatory ✨
Summer in the Bay Area is finally here, and that means it’s the perfect time to visit Lick Observatory for some cosmic magic! 🌟 Current Tour Offerings Music of the Spheres: A celestial-themed concert 🎵 Evening with the Stars: Lectures by guest scientists 🎤 Public Evening Tours: A 4-6 hour guided walk featuring telescope viewings 🔭 (We did this one—details below!) Photography Nights: Capture the cosmos 📸 Check the Lick Observatory website for exact schedules and tickets! 🌌 Our Public Evening Tour Experience Price: $75/person (booked via Eventbrite) Highlights: Guided walk around the mountain’s telescopes (big and small!) Breathtaking sunset over the Bay Area 🌇 (Even the scientist leading our tour, who’s seen countless sunsets, couldn’t resist snapping pics with us!) Telescope viewing of double stars near Leo (two bright dots) and the M81 galaxy (a faint, fuzzy cloud). (Not as crystal-clear as we hoped, but still mind-blowing!) Super passionate guides—our tour leader was so enthusiastic, taking group photos with telescopes and answering every question with patience. Duration: The tour ran past 11 PM (we left early because of the long drive back). 🚗 Visiting Tips The drive up/down is winding—motion-sickness-prone folks, beware! 🏔️ Dress warm—it gets chilly at night, even in summer! ❄️ Arrive early to explore the exhibits before the tour starts. 💫 Final Thoughts "If you love astronomy, this is a MUST. Even if the stars don’t cooperate, the passion of the scientists makes it unforgettable." #BayAreaWeekends #Stargazing #LickObservatory #SunsetLovers #CosmicAdventures
