Weekend Plans丨Free Spots for UCB Students 🎓💫
Hey Session E folks, how’s it going? 🙌 Let me see your hands! With the weekend coming up, have you decided where to go yet? As a Session F student, I’m here to share some helpful tips—think of it as one student paving the way for others 😉 This guide is all about places you can visit FOR FREE with your Cal 1 Card! 1. UC Botanical Garden 🌵🌺 A huge and gorgeous garden behind the Berkeley hills. You’ll find cacti taller than two people, precious garlic all the way from China, flower gardens, and quiet ponds—it feels like being a jungle explorer! Normal ticket: $15 | Students: FREE Tip: Signal is weak in some areas—grab a paper map at the entrance! 2. Berkeley Hilltop + Lawrence Hall of Science 🏞️🔭 Climb to the top of the hill behind campus for a breathtaking view of the bay and the land beyond—like a hidden new world in the distance. The science museum up there is also free for students! Tip: Pair this with the Botanical Garden. Take the campus F bus uphill, then wander down through the garden. ⚠️ Check the bus schedule—the F line doesn’t run frequently. 3. Campus Libraries & Buildings 🏛️📚 UC Berkeley has over 20 libraries spread across campus—each with its own style. Don’t miss: Doe Library: Step into the main reading room—it looks like something out of Hogwarts! 🪄 Main Stacks: Use your student ID to explore the largest book collection on campus. Spiral underground staircases lead you to a sea of books below. Moffitt Library: Students only! Great for group discussions and activities. ☀️ Even borrow a frisbee at the front desk to play outside when you need a break! 4. Sather Tower (The Campanile) 🔔🌉 The tallest and most iconic tower on campus. General admission: $5 | Students: FREE Be there at the top of the hour to experience the bell chiming up close 🔔 On clear days, you can see all the way to the bay and distant mountains 🏔️ Have a fun and budget-friendly weekend, Bears! 🐻💙 #UCB #Travel #Berkeley #SummerProgram #FreeGuide #CampusLife #StudentDiscounts #BayArea
