Weekend PLOG | Quiet Yet Lively Helsingborg
⛴️ Mid-morning on Saturday, we hopped on a 🚂 from Lund, bound for a day trip to Helsingborg. Outside the window, rolling 🌾 plains and golden wheat fields stretched out—wind carried the scent of freedom. I’d been longing to visit Helsingborg all spring (curiosity got the better of me!), and today, we finally met face-to-face. (PS: The giggles of teens on the train felt like a school bell—suddenly, I was back in class days 😅) ⛵️ Across the strait lies Denmark’s Helsingør, just a 20-minute ferry ride away. This coastal town has it all: ⛴️ ferries, 🛥️ yachts, ☀️ blue skies & white clouds, 🏰 fortresses & watchtowers, 🗼 lighthouses & waterfront cottages. But its “smallness” is what makes it charming—a century-old café ☕ on a prime street, usually bustling with weekend tea-drinkers, felt eerily quiet today. Just a handful of people sat by the window, watching time drift by, as if the coffee aroma itself slowed down 🍰🕰️. 🌁 On the way to the ramen shop, I video-called my sister. She laughed at us climbing hills and wandering: “Does this remind you of San Francisco’s rolling streets?” It totally did. And the ramen? No regrets here 🍜—rich, creamy tonkotsu broth (pork!) that clung to the spoon, tender pork belly 🥩 that was fatty but not greasy, with a hint of smoky sweetness. A small bowl left us stuffed 😋. We rushed home just before the rain 🌧️, missing the Baltic tides rising and the sunset painting the sky 🌅… Next time, we’ll stay longer. 📍 Hidden Gem Ramen Spot Name: YaMMI Address: Hjälmshultsgatan 19, 254 41 Helsingborg Avg.
