🌿 Wehr Nature Center Adventure in Milwaukee,Wisconsin 🌳🐿️
This weekend, I visited Wehr Nature Center with my sketching group — my first time there, and it felt so fresh and fun! Located in Franklin, Wisconsin, the center is part of the Milwaukee County Parks, about a 20-minute drive from downtown. It sits within Whitnall Park, near a golf course and the beautiful Boerner Botanical Gardens. Entry is FREE — just a $5 parking fee (cash or card accepted). There are three main hiking trails, some of which are ADA accessible 🦽, making it welcoming for all visitors. It was a bit chilly that day, so I stayed close to the main building. But if you venture further, you’ll find a waterfall and a lovely lakeside trail 🌊🚶. Nature lovers could easily spend a whole day here! I’d recommend wearing hiking boots or waterproof shoes — especially after rain. The park has restrooms, benches, and is well-maintained 🛋️🧹. Don’t forget to check out the nature store — you might find some cute souvenirs! 🦉🌲 In summer, the center hosts lots of events. You can find more info online! 📍 9701 W.
