I'm giving them three stars because it was a nice little setup cute for the kids. And for the most part they were friendly. However I'm taking two stars because I feel like way overpaid and not only did I not get to enjoy it fully. It was not all it was hyped up to be. This is an event that is good for little kids not bigger kids I'd say no older than 8 years old. There's another activity going on down the street. Which has the police directing you at a four-way stop. These officers forcefully made me turn rather than go the way I was going. Only to realize that because of this I walked for over six blocks of a terribly steep Hill only to be at the wrong event. I had a lady call my correct event and let them know that I was coming that it was due to the traffic duty officers that I wound up in the wrong place. Also mind you lack of signs telling people that this is one activity and down there is another. Regardless of this knowledge when we arrived they basically rushed us to get ahead with a group that we were supposed to start with so we missed a few things in the beginning something that was not said when we called. Which made it all the more less worth $80. I know there's nothing I can do about this now. It doesn't hurt anyone else but me also. But this could have so been handled so much better by the people from the park, the officers directing traffic, and the activity planners putting up signs. All of those people and things could have prevented such a terrible experience. Better organization better explanation of services and age requirements or appropriateness. I would not recommend this to people with older children. And I would not recommend due to the inconvenience I had to go through. It's over now so who cares right but... This was definitely not the experience I expected to have for that amount of money. Still all in all I'd like to say it was a beautiful place. With very kind...
Read moreFunny story, I went on a walk on my own here like at 4pm just wanted to take pictures and relax. This was around the beginning of winter where the sky darkens fast anyway I went into the trail and began to walk take in the views , take pictures and then I started down a trail it felt like I had walked 30 minutes and was still not finding the trail to end and it was getting darker and darker. Kee in mind I was like 20 and I didn't really know my way around I had just found this place and I had never hiked on my own before and I was a thriller movie fan of jeepers creepers, wrong turn etc... anyway my phone was about to completely lose its battery and I had no idea how long was left of the trail so I was getting scared like a teenager when they go out to throw the trash in the dark and I decided to run back all the way where I had come from, I probably looked crazy because I was looking all around me to make sure I wasn't being followed 😂 anyway scariest...
Read moreThis is, without a doubt, the best place to birdwatch and see wildlife in the Milwaukee metro area. The nature center is fantastic; inside, the staff always maintains a wall displaying which flowers are in bloom. Additionally, there are multiple bird feeders that are always well-stocked, attracting a variety of birds. Surrounding the bird feeders, you'll find numerous wildflowers in bloom throughout the spring and summer months. There are diverse habitats to explore, offering opportunities to see different types of birds.
The trails are extremely well-maintained, and there is always something new and exciting to discover while walking them, from huge puffball mushrooms and intricately webbed spider webs to playful chipmunks. I highly recommend visiting for anyone interested in nature...
