What's it like to dine in London's most artistic restaurant?

🦪 Thanks to my friend's invitation, I had the pleasure of dining at a restaurant in Mayfair curated by the owners of Hauser & Wirth. The exquisite interior design and art display make it one of London's "most artistic" restaurants. 🦪 American artist Rashid Johnson designed the unique floor for the restaurant, "This well-lit restaurant features a one-of-a-kind floor — a Palladiana mosaic composed of various types of marble, allowing guests to explore it, stand on it, and physically interact with it... in a way that differs from the traditional." 🦪 The walls are adorned with art pieces, including Freud's "Self-Portrait: Reflection" (1996) & "Shrimp Dish" (1958); Andy Warhol's "Lobster" (1982), Matisse's "Bollard" (1920), Morandi's "Natura morta" (1946), and Keith Tyson's "Still Life with White Carbohydrates" (2022). There's a QR code in the bottom right corner of the menu that provides information about the works on display that day. That day, I happened to sit under David Hockney's iPad drawing No.643 (15/25) and across from Suzanne Valadon's work from 1916. 🦪 The restaurant's lamps are inspired by Swiss artist Sophie Taeuber-Arp's iconic 1918 "powder compact," and the woodgrain for the salt and pepper shakers is inspired by American artist Paul McCarthy's much-discussed "Tree" (2014) sculpture. Ewan Venters, CEO of Hauser & Wirth and Artfarm, commented, "Mount St. restaurant is about food, the story of Mayfair, and art. We want people to leave feeling they have experienced something special. But it's not just a restaurant; it's a place that both reflects and provides joy." 🍮 The recommended dessert is soufflé, with an excellent texture. #London #Art #ArtistShare #LondonLife #Food #LondonFood #ContemporaryArt
