What to Eat During Philly Restaurant Week? Definitely Osteria! ๐
Restaurant Week is perfect for a reunion with friends at the start of the semester. I tried both Estia and Osteria over two days โ here are my thoughts โฌ๏ธ HIGHLY RECOMMEND Osteria โ $45 for 3 courses, and we left full and happy! ๐ The focaccia bread was fragrant and delicious. ๐ฅฆ Appetizers: The Broccolini Caesar was amazing โ roasted broccolini with a light Caesar dressing, topped with cheese and breadcrumbs. Only note: itโs served cold; hot would have been next-level! ๐ Octopus was okay โ a bit salty for mild palates, but the crispy celery on top added nice freshness. ๐ Mains: Pesto pasta was al dente and flavorful (very โItalianโ in texture โ slightly undercooked in the best way). ๐ Roasted chicken was a letdown โ tender and juicy but way too salty, overpowering all other flavors. ๐ฎ Desserts stole the show! Coffee panna cotta was silky with a strong espresso flavor and a crunchy almond topping โ so good it made our eyes light up! ๐ฐ Citrus olive oil torta was light, not overly sweet, with mascarpone cream and lemon curd. Cake was moist but not oily โ absolutely loved it! We agreed Osteria should open a bakery ๐. Estia, on the other hand, was underwhelming โ $60 for 3 courses. Portions were decent, but flavors were just okay. Best part was the hummus with bread ๐ฅ. ๐ Octopus was greasy and inconsistently seasoned. Other appetizers featured feta โ limited choice if you donโt like it. ๐ Lamb chops were cooked well (seared outside, tender inside) but heavily seasoned, leaving us thirsty. ๐ฏ Dessert was baklava โ overly sweet and oily. The vanilla ice cream with blueberry sauce was the only saving grace. Overall: Not bad, but not worth the hype. #PhillyEats #RestaurantWeek #OsteriaPhilly #FineDining #ItalianFood #DessertLovers
