What to Eat in Oxford? | Chinese Food Collection 1 🤤💯
1️⃣ Zhang Ji (Cowley Road) A must-try! Specializes in Northeastern Chinese dishes, also offers hotpot, grilled fish, and spicy dry pot. 🌟 Must order: Dry Pot Pork Intestines – huge portion, crispy and not gamey at all! Also tried: Sweet & Sour Pork (“Guo Bao Rou”) – crispy outside, tender inside, sauce was a bit too sour for me. Shredded Cabbage – sweet, crispy, perfect with rice. Need to go back with more friends to try other dishes! 2️⃣ Kopitiam Malaysian & Chinese Restaurant (Summertown) As a Malaysian, I was so happy to find hometown flavors here! 🍜 Offers various Malaysian stir-fried noodles and rice dishes. Recommended: Minced Pork Tofu & Butter Prawns. Personal fave: Curry Laksa! 3️⃣ Donburi Inn – Oxford Canteen (Covered Market) Affordable stir-fried noodles and rice bowls – tons of options! 🍚 Roast Duck Rice: generous portion, delicious and satisfying. Also tried Spicy Beef Brisket – was okay, not spicy enough for me. So many choices, I always take forever to decide! 4️⃣ Sasi’s Thai (Covered Market) Great-value Thai food! Classic dishes like Pad Thai, red/green curry, Tom Yum, etc. 🍛 Pre-prepared dishes: 1 dish + rice = £8, 2 dishes = £9.80. Big portions and super tasty! My ultimate fave: Braised Pork Rice (called “Cinnamon Pork” on the menu). Heard their spring rolls are great – need to try next time! 5️⃣ Gloucester Green Outdoor Market (Gloucester Green Station) My food heaven! More options than Covered Market, mostly Chinese food. 🍱 Korean kimbap stall: only £5! Roast Meat Rice: 2-choice combo £10.80, 3-choice £11.80 – tasty and satisfying. Also has Northeastern dumplings, Thai food, Indonesian, Taiwanese braised pork rice, and more! A must-visit for anyone in Oxford! Also sells fresh produce, bread, accessories, vintage items. Open Wed–Sat, 9am–4pm. #OxfordEats #ChineseFood #UKFood #FoodDiary #OxfordLife #WhatToEat #FoodReview #OxfordUniversity #AsianCuisine #FoodieAdventure 🍜✨
