What to Eat in Philadelphia | Via Locusta
Today I’m recommending Via Locusta, an Italian restaurant in Philadelphia! Even though it’s “white people food,” the taste is really great 😌👍. I’ve been there twice and tried quite a few different dishes~ - Squid Ink Chitarra & Spaghetti and Crab The squid ink pasta has plenty of squid rings. The tomato sauce is rich but not greasy—slightly tangy and refreshing. It was my first time trying crab pasta; its sauce is thicker, and the crab flavor is strong. Super unique and delicious! - Grilled Octopus Leg Tasty but a little dry, pretty standard. If you like octopus legs, you can give it a try. - Focaccia So delicious!!! Warm bread with honey butter—the sweetness of the butter, the sea salt on the bread, and the rosemary blend perfectly! The focaccia has a crispy crust and soft inside—highly recommended! - Prosciutto Pizza It’s savory, topped with cheese and prosciutto. Also highly recommended—super fragrant! (Extra photo of the crab pasta just because it looks nicer 😄) - Desserts Pretty average. The only one worth a small try is the gelato; the other pudding and espresso didn’t suit my taste. The honey walnuts next to the gelato are okay, but the mysterious cherry topping is really hard to recommend. Save your dessert appetite for elsewhere! During my second visit, I also ordered pappardelle (a lamb pasta)—it was super flavorful too, but I forgot to take a photo. In short, this spot is great for main courses, but skip the desserts. The prices are also affordable, perfect for a small gathering with friends. 📍 Address: 1723 Locust St, Philadelphia, PA 19103 #ItalianCuisine #Philadelphia #DeliciousFood #DailyFood #Pasta
