What to Explore in Acadia National Park, Maine in Two Days

June 30 - July 1, 2024 Continuing from the Portland guide: We drove from Portland to the small town of Ellsworth on the evening of June 29. It’s a 30-minute drive from the sunrise viewing spot, and the biggest perk is affordable accommodation 🏡 1. When you’re already at the mountain top ⛰️, don’t forget to strike a pose!) 2.Jordan Pond Trail was my favorite—it has a long section of wooden boardwalks that feel so comfortable to walk on 🪜 3.Bar Island Trail is a hidden gem! When the tide goes out 🌊, the trail reveals itself. We picked up beautiful stones to make fridge magnets 🧲 4.Beehive Trail is a total must-visit! You can see the coastline 🌊 and beaches 🏖️ the entire time. It’s a bit challenging but totally manageable ~ 5.Bubbles Trail has two sections: North and South. We took the South one, which can be connected to Jordan Pond Trail. There’s a huge rock that’s perfect for photos 📸 6.7.8.These were all taken while hiking the Ocean Path Trail. It’s incredibly beautiful when the sun is out ☀️. We spotted an elderly couple sketching—such a peaceful, timeless scene 👴👵 9.Thunder Hole is actually along the Ocean Path Trail too. The actual site is much smaller than expected 🪨 10.You have to go to Cadillac Mountain to watch the sunrise 🌅! Unfortunately, it was cloudy that day. ⚠️ To watch the sunrise, you need to reserve a spot two days in advance—$6 per car. You also need a national park annual pass 🏞️ per car. If you don’t have one, you can buy a 7-day pass for $35 per car. The last 4 photos are all food: Jordan's Restaurant - Breakfast: Their Blueberry Pancakes were delicious 😋! And their blueberry jam was amazing—not too sweet. We ended up buying several jars later when we were shopping 🫙 Ben & Bill's Chocolate Emporium: This ice cream shop is easy to spot—there’s a lobster 🦞 sculpture at the entrance. The blueberry flavor was a bit too sweet, while the lobster flavor had a savory-sweet taste. It was okay, but you could barely taste the lobster ~ Dinner at Testa's Bar & Grill: Highly recommend the "Taste of Maine" platter—so much food, we were stuffed 😋! Also, the blueberry soda was super recommended 🥤 We had breakfast at Flexit Cafe in Ellsworth—it was really good! We only took a photo of the Eggs Benedict 🥚. After eating, we were full of energy to hit the trails again ~ The first day was cloudy and rainy, and the sunrise was hidden by clouds. But “small satisfactions are better than perfect plans” ~ That just gives me a reason to come back again someday! #Maine #Acadia #NationalPark #EasternUSHikingRecommendations #AcadiaNationalPark
