When California is Folded into Sculptures | Noguchi Garden
After studying landscape for over a decade, I finally visited this textbook case. πΏ Noguchi Garden feels like a "condensed California." It captures the state's diverse landscapes through sculpture, allowing you to experience the transition from forests to deserts and water sources within a minimalist, sculptural space. π³π Yet, it's not truly "natural." The rocks, streams, and sand dunes here are all arranged with geometric and sculptural precision. π Independent within the city, yet reflecting the urban landscape, it reinterprets nature through the lens of the metropolis. π π Noguchi Garden The indoor parking garage is right next to the garden β super convenient! Parking is very reasonably priced at $1/15 mins on weekends, with a maximum of $10. π° After visiting Noguchi Garden, take a short 5-minute walk to OCMA. The admission is free, and I happened to catch a performance by young Chinese kids, which added a lively touch to my visit. π Another day of envying Orange County residents! π #LAWEEKEND #ArchitectureBlendingWithNature #DesignMeetsNature #FuturisticNaturalism #EarthArtLandscapes #PublicArt #NatureAndDesign #IsamuNoguchi #LandscapeInstallationArt
