Why You Must Climb Table Mountain When Visiting Cape Town,South Africa
Last year, I didn't make it up Table Mountain due to bad weather, but this weekend, I finally did! From the "tabletop," you can take in the mountains, the sea, and the cityscape of Cape Town all at once. It's truly one of the best natural viewpoints in South Africa! ⛰️ In almost any corner of Cape Town, South Africa, if you look up into the distance, you'll see Table Mountain! Nature's incredible craftsmanship has made the top of this mountain as flat as a table, which is why it's called "God's Table." The occasional mist that lingers on the summit acts as a giant "tablecloth." Every time I saw this mountain from the streets last year, I had the urge to stand on it and look down at the entire city! 🌞 This weekend, I was back in Cape Town, and the weather was perfect. Without hesitation, the first thing I did on Saturday was to head to Table Mountain. For those planning to visit, consider staying near the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. It's not far from Table Mountain, and the area is bustling and safe, with plenty of dining, drinking, and souvenir shops. 🚡 You don't need to book online to go up Table Mountain. Just take an Uber there and buy your tickets on site (cash or credit card accepted, 395 rand per person, around 140 RMB). If you want to avoid long lines, get there early. We arrived around 10 a.m., which was peak time, so we waited about half an hour to get to the cable car. Yes, you take the cable car up; no one actually climbs to the top (it's not feasible on foot). Once on the cable car, just stand to the side because the floor rotates 360 degrees, ensuring everyone gets a full view without having to fight for window seats. 📷 Once at the top, it's time for photos, videos, and striking poses! You'll see mountains, the sea, the city, and some animals (South African lizards and large rats), which make for great shots! ⚠️ Be careful when posing; some of the best spots don't have guardrails! The paths on the summit are winding among rocks and scrub, leading to the other end of the mountain. If you have the time and energy, you can walk to the other side, but remember to return the same way, as you'll be taking the cable car down from the same spot. In summary, always choose a clear, cloudless day to visit Table Mountain for the best views. After coming down, you can visit the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront to stroll around, have a Western meal or seafood, watch live performances by local bands, see the Ferris wheel, catch the sunset, and buy some souvenirs. It's a perfect way to spend a weekend day! #CapeTown #WeekendGetaway #TableMountain #SouthAfrica #SouthAfricaTravel
