Wine tasting
💡The wines of South Africa are probably known to everyone, right? It's one of the most famous "New World" wine regions. Franschoek and Stellenbosch, near Cape Town, are the top wine regions in South Africa, and both are very close to the city center of Cape Town. 🧡Franschoek is about a one-and-a-half-hour drive from Cape Town. Its highlight is the Wine Tasting Tram, which is the red wine tram that many people on Xiaohongshu (Little Red Book) have visited. By taking this vintage tram, you can travel between different wineries and get on and off freely. This way, you can enjoy wine tasting without having to drive, making it a relaxed and safe experience. Pairing it with a night's stay at a winery accommodation makes it perfect. 💡For a day trip, I would recommend the closer Stellenbosch, which is only a forty-minute drive from Cape Town. Stellenbosch is the most famous concentration of wineries in South Africa. Most of the wineries offer tasting tours, some of which require reservations, so it's best to check in advance. I'm not a big fan of wine and was too lazy to choose, so I just asked ChatGPT for recommendations. ChatGPT suggested Delaire Graff Estate (for red wines) and Tokara Wine Estate (for white wines). 🧡We first visited Delaire Graff Estate, which is owned by the diamond and jewelry tycoon Laurence Graff. It's not just a winery; it's also famous for its art collection, luxurious accommodation, and fine dining. We chose the ICON TASTING of four wines and ordered some snacks. After the tasting, we were already a bit tipsy. Considering we still had to drive, we didn't go to the second recommended place, Tokara, which was a bit of a pity. 💡After leaving the Graff winery, it only took a few minutes' drive to get back to Stellenbosch. We spent some time wandering around the small town. The afternoon on a holiday was very pleasant, and we took the opportunity to aerate the wine. #WineWorld #ArtAndWine #SouthAfrica #SouthAfricaTravel #CapeTown #CapeTownTravel #Stellenbosch #SouthAfricanWineries #Travel
