Wolfsbane | San Francisco’s Most Anticipated Fine Dining 🌟
Just tried Wolfsbane, the new restaurant in Dogpatch that’s been called one of SF’s most exciting fine dining openings this year even before its launch.😀 Helmed by Carrie & Rupert Blease (the Michelin-starred duo behind Lord Stanley) and Chef Tommy Halvorson, the restaurant offers a 9-10 course seasonal tasting menu that creatively showcases Northern California ingredients with unexpected combinations.😋 📍 Located in the American Industrial Center — which, fun fact, is the same building I work in every day! The space, originally an old cannery, was designed by Seth Boor of Boor Architects. It preserves the industrial vibe with exposed pipes, concrete columns, and high ceilings, while adding warmth through live-edge wood, soft textiles, and perfectly moody lighting — a blend of rugged and refined. Each dish felt layered and thoughtfully crafted, with little surprises throughout: • The opening snacks arrived as a sunflower bouquet 🌻, with edible “sunflowers” made from artichoke toasted seed butter and poppy seeds tucked among the petals. • A tomato reinterpretation came as a clear broth, intensely fragrant with tomato and rose — light yet perfumed, and totally memorable. • Cabbage “noodles” swam in a creamy broth topped with sea urchin bottarga — so comforting and rich. • We added the Wagyu beef with truffle — my partner absolutely loved it. • Dessert Autumn Fruit 🍬 had a sugar crust hiding sesame inside, instantly evoking Chinese hawthorn candies — it felt like a bite of a Beijing fall. I wonder if that was the chef’s inspiration. All in all, highly recommended! From the space to the flavors, every detail reflects intention and care. #SFfineDining #SanFranciscoEats #WolfsbaneSF #DogpatchSF #TastingMenu #BayAreaFood #MichelinEnergy #SFrestaurantReview
