X Park Adventure Guide: One-Day Trip to Xplor & Transportation Tips 🎢

Last year, I lounged at an all-inclusive resort in Puerto Vallarta, but this time in Cancun, my focus was on exploring the X parks! 🍽️🥩So, I opted for a regular hotel near the main ADO bus station in Playa del Carmen—a highly-rated, non-all-inclusive spot that exceeded expectations. My criteria? Quiet and clean, since we’d be out all day. An all-inclusive would’ve been a waste! 🏨✨ ✨ Colectivo: These local minibuses run almost every minute! Check your map and head to the station near McDonald’s—it’s a major hub. Join the queue (it’s long but fast-moving), and hop on a bus heading toward Tulum. Tell the driver you’re going to Xplor (30 pesos per adult, kids pay full price too). After 20 minutes, you’ll be dropped off on the highway. Cross to the park using the opposite sign—no pedestrian crossing here! 🚸 If you’re too nervous (like my husband), walk with traffic to the Xcaret grass hut and use the underground tunnel (15-minute detour). Then walk another 15 minutes to the entrance… what a time-waster! 😅 Now, onto Xplor’s highlights—plus some insider tips others haven’t mentioned! 💡 ✨ Zipline: After a safety briefing, you’ll learn only phone waterproof pouches and wrist-mounted GoPros are allowed. Nothing else—not even a tiny fanny pack! We tried bending the rules (thanks to other) and got sent back to lockers. Two people even tried hiding hats under helmets—no luck! 🧢❌ ✨ Underground River Adventure: We did this twice (morning + afternoon). Worried about cold water? It depends on your tolerance! At 5'5" and 108 lbs, I felt fine, but my husband and daughter froze. The water slide mid-route was a blast! Depth? It reached my neck at the deepest point. 🌊🛟 ✨ Swing Zipline: Sitting in a net, you’ll zoom down—way more fun than regular ziplines! Without kids slowing me down, I’d have done this 10 times. 😜 ✨ Off-Road ATV Adventure: Two trails available, both slow-paced (no license needed!). Trail 2 has rain curtains and mud pits—expect to get soaked! ✨ Underground River Rafting: Meh… it’s okay. 🛶 Skipped underground river swimming—can’t swim! 🏊‍♀️ Finally, the park’s buffet was surprisingly good! The T-bone steak was a standout. Next up: Three more X parks in the coming days! Stay tuned for more adventures. 🌴✨ #CaveAdventureKing #Cancun #XcaretParks 🏞️🎡
