Yellowstone Part 1: Salt Lake City → Grand Teton → Yellowstone 🚗🌄
We entered through the South Entrance of Yellowstone after driving from Jackson Lake, heading north all the way! Along the way, we stopped at West Thumb Geyser Basin – home to stunningly blue geysers and bubbling mud pots! 🟦🌋 This trail also offers gorgeous views of Yellowstone Lake and the distant mountains. It was our first major attraction after entering from the south—so exciting! Fishing Bridge – Not entirely sure what to expect here, but heard the sunsets are beautiful. We dipped our feet in the water and relaxed for a while. 🎣🌅 Dragon’s Mouth Spring – Navigate here for some epic muddy springs and the famous water-spouting “dragon’s mouth”! 🐉💦 Hayden Valley Overlook at Yellowstone River – A vast plain where wildlife often roams. We spotted our first bison herd in the park here! 🦬🔭 Pro tip: You don’t always need to stop specifically for animal sightings—early mornings or evenings are best for grazing animals. If traffic slows down unexpectedly, there’s probably wildlife nearby! Artist Point – I believe this is part of the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone with two magnificent waterfalls. Navigate to Upper Falls View for a lower observation deck. An incredible spot for sunset! 🌄 The canyon is colorful and absolutely breathtaking. Stay: Canyon Lodge and Cabins – Nearby there are dining options (cafeteria-style) and an RV campground. 🏕️ At $400+ per night, it’s not cheap, but options are limited inside the park. The WiFi was surprisingly good—I could even play League of Legends and do video interviews! 😄🎮 I stayed two nights, though ideally, you could switch locations to minimize backtracking. #RoadTripLove #SelfDriveAdventures #USARoadTrip #YellowstoneNationalPark #Yellowstone #ExploreAmerica #NationalParkHopping #WildlifeWatching #ScenicDrives #TravelGoals #CanyonViews #GeyserWonders #AdventureDiaries
