York Experience 🌟

National Railway Museum πŸš‚ Upon arriving in York, exiting from gates 10-11 might be more convenient as the other exits require a bit of a walk. Currently, there is construction around the area, making the paths a bit chaotic. The exhibition hall is only on one floor and not very large. Staff mentioned that other halls will be open after September 2025. Museum Gardens 🌳 The lawn and ruins offer decent scenery for photo opportunities. The museum itself requires an additional fee. York Minster πŸ•Œ Student tickets are available for Β£16 + Β£6 (for the tower climb) and can be purchased on-site. The guided tours are free and led by elderly guides who speak slowly and provide detailed explanations. Climbing the tower is definitely worth it, as it offers a panoramic view of the entire city. The unique experience of climbing the church's tower staircase is quite interesting. After exiting the church, you can access the city walls via Bootham Bar and exit via Monk Bar. 🏰 Shambles Market & Harry Potter & Butterscotch Beer 🍻 The Shambles is a very short and narrow street, famous for its resemblance to Diagon Alley and its "Butterbeer." While it is well-known for its charm, the area is quite commercialized. I didn't find it particularly interesting and didn't try any of the experiences. City Walk / Sightseeing πŸ™οΈ The focus of the trip was more on experiencing the atmosphere and enjoying the sights. I wasn't very interested in the commercial aspects. Overall, the experience at the cathedral was quite nice, and I spent nearly three hours exploring. #UK #UKLife #York #Travel
