You've Got to Try a Sunday Roast in the UK! ๐ฅฉ
I originally came for the Tomahawk steak and the famous white chocolate cheesecake, but since it was Sunday, they only had the Sunday Roast on the menu. We had been talking about how hard it is to get this dish and that you need a reservation, but today we stumbled upon it by accident and got to enjoy a traditional British meal! ๐ There are 4 types of roasts available: beef, lamb, pork, and the all-in-one (24๐ท). The first three options come with two large pieces of meat each, while the all-in-one gives you one large piece of each type of meat. The sides include roasted carrots (super sweet, I love them), roasted cabbage (somehow it's so burnt, not tasty!), rock-hard roasted potatoes, and the most traditional British pudding (even harder than the potatoes๐ ). ๐ฎ Beef Roast for 22๐ท It's usually cooked medium-rare by default. I tried to cut it and found it was too tough to chew, so I asked them to cook it medium-well, and they brought me two new servings. I thought I wouldn't be full, but these two large pieces were really satisfying! Plus, the accompanying gravy was just right, making it a fulfilling meal. ๐ Lamb Leg for 21๐ท The lamb had a very mild gamey flavor, which actually brought out its freshness. Cooked medium-well, it was much more enjoyable. ๐ฐ Cheesecake for 6๐ท The white chocolate cheesecake that's all the rage on social media was quite disappointing. It might be a bit lighter than regular cheesecake with a stronger cheese flavor, but the white chocolate made it overly sweet. It's the kind of dessert that gets cloying after just a couple of bites. ๐ฐ The average cost per person is between 25-35๐ท (steak is half price on Mondays, so I'll definitely be back!). There's a 12.5% service charge. ๐ Blacklock, 24 Great Windmill St, London W1D 7LG #StudyingInUK #Foodie #WhatToEat #UK #LondonFood #LondonFoodie #LondonFoodExploration #MustEatInLondon #LondonFoodieCheckIn #BritishLife #UKMustEat #StudyingInUK #UKFood #SundayCheatMeal #UKFoodExploration #UKStudyFood
