Zum Gulden Stern: The Famous Pork Knuckle Restaurant in Nuremberg

Today I went to Zum Gulden Stern all by myself. Itโ€™s a pretty well-known German restaurant in Nuremberg. The interior is quite classic, and it was packed with diners. It was already full by 6 p.m.! The waiter asked me to share a table with some Koreans who arrived around the same time, saying itโ€™s quite common. Sitting next to a family of strangers was a bit awkward ๐Ÿ˜… I ordered a draft beer mixed with cola. Although Iโ€™m not a big fan of beer, this combination was surprisingly refreshing and delicious! Next came a huge plate of pork knuckle for 14.5 euros, which also included a side of sauerkraut. ๐Ÿ– As soon as the pork knuckle arrived, the awkwardness between me and the Koreans disappeared. They kept exclaiming how delicious it looked and asked me how it tasted, and we chatted a bit. The pork knuckle was incredibly flavorful, tender, and easy to cut with a small knife. It had lots of collagen. The sauerkraut was also tasty, not too sour, and perfectly balanced the richness of the pork. I also ordered a small side of potato salad, which was just okay. For one person, the pork knuckle with sauerkraut is more than enough. ๐Ÿ˜‹ The service here isnโ€™t overly enthusiastic, but itโ€™s fine. #RestaurantRecommendation #GermanLife #Nuremberg #FoodieSpot #CollectingCulinaryDelights #GermanCuisine
