🇩🇪 Matcha Mille-Feuille Heaven!
There's no doubt that indulging in something sweet brings pure joy. ☕️ 📍 Niu Asian Café Just a stone's throw away from Lorenzkirche, you can find this gem right near one of the exits from Karstadt. ✅ Dining Process: Take a seat first and peruse the menu at your leisure. When you’re ready, head to the counter to place your order and tip directly. It gets super crowded—when I arrived right at the 12 PM opening time, the place was already packed. I’d highly recommend getting there early. The staff are incredibly gentle and friendly! 😊 ✅ Cost: With a tip, the average spend is around 15 euros. Cakes range from 6.5 to 7.5 euros per slice, and beverages from 4 to 8 euros. It’s a bit pricier compared to traditional German cafés, but totally worth it. 🧁 The Cake: I went for the matcha mille-feuille, which was a popular choice. Many people also opted for the Japanese strawberry cream cake. The freshness is evident—the cakes are made right in front of you by a staff member in an open kitchen. The attention to detail is remarkable; after you order, they decorate the cake with fresh fruit, dust it with powdered sugar, and add a dollop of cream. It feels like you’re getting a piece of art! 🎨 🍵 The Drink: They have a wide variety of hot and cold beverages, especially those with matcha. I tried the frozen strawberry white chocolate drink, which was absolutely delicious—no cheap artificial flavors or sweeteners here. 🍓 This is the kind of place that makes you appreciate the simple joys of life.
