J’ai la Patate is an absolute gem in Hokkaido. My husband and I came here during our honeymoon trip to Japan, and this meal ended up being one of the most memorable of our entire journey. The restaurant is intimate, with only a few tables, and the minimalist, clean design makes the perfect backdrop for a truly extraordinary dining experience. The service alone deserves a Michelin star — warm, thoughtful, and deeply knowledgeable. Every dish was a work of art, with each bite somehow more delicious than the last. All of the ingredients are locally sourced from Hokkaido, and you can truly taste the freshness and quality in every bite. We found this place thanks to a recommendation from a local, and we couldn’t be more grateful. Don’t sleep on this place — it’s a must-visit.

The mid priced dinner menu was selected with options. The starter with uni and tuna was perfect with a slight crunch from the tiny croutons. Followed by the scallop salad with freeze dried lemon that really popped and enhanced the flavors or the seafood and the bitter leaves. The warm dishes were also wonderful, with the fish dish being particularly exquisite - a surprise contrast between the usually raw but this time cooked osyter and the lighter treatment of the flounder. No complaints on the beef and the dessert of peaches and jelly and earl gray ice cream was the ultimate end to a wonderful evening.

C'était un dîner extraordinaire! Thoughtful menu, best ingredients, and fine cooking! Hokkaido is already known for the best produces, but here they use organic, local and seasonal vegetables! We had Dorobuta Pork garnished with beautiful and tasty vegetables... Raclette Cheese- what a special evening to celebrate with family!!! I can’t help but giving them 5 stars plus 🌟 for thanking them!!! 😍🤪❤️ Merci!!!

We have eaten here 3 times during our stay in Niseko and I can honestly say it is by far the best restaurant in the area. We chose a four course menu on two occasions and the eight course option for a big family dinner and each time the plates served were fresh, delicious and exquisitely presented. The home made bread is fresh, warm and crusty The service from Yuki is friendly and professional. Simply mention any allergies or dislikes and they will prepare a personalized menu for you. Two of our family are vegan and they were prepared a special feast that was simply amazing. The rest of us enjoyed the freshest local seafood, meats and vegetables along with delicious desserts. Do yourself a favour and try this...
