I don’t usually write reviews, but I also don’t usually meet such extraordinary hosts like in this restaurant.
First the food is incredible. Authentic, flavorful, made with care and love. The salad fresh, the meat perfectly flavored and the toasted bread with olive oil to die for.
But even more special are the hosts. I saw the 5 star reviews for the restaurant on my road trip to a wedding and thought let’s make a stop. I realized I arrived 15 Minuten before closing and didn’t actually expect them to provide me with food. When I entered the lovely hostess told me with Google translate that they actually are closed but if I wanted could quickly fire up the grill again and make me some salad, potatoes and meat. As a foreigner and as the location looked so beautiful I of course said yes, but asked whether I could pay by card: Which you can not. Therefore my dream of a quick authentic dinner died as I did not have any cash with me (they accept Euro and the local currency). I offered them PayPal but they said they wouldn’t do it, so I left to my car and as I wasn‘t expecting to get anything either way as I came so late, I accepted my fate. However, just when I entered my car there was a knock on the window. It was the husband and cook and he gestured me to come in. I assumed that meant they would now accept PayPal. As mentioned they then prepared solely for me in an empty restaurant after work hours food. I even saw the daughter bring fresh produce from the supermarket.
It was as I said tasty, excellent and truly made with so much care. And believe me my hobby is testing 3 Michelin Star restaurants so I do have quite a trained pallet. It was just a ton of food for a solo traveler like me. So after I finished I went to the family to PayPal them and they actually told me we do not have PayPal. I was confused but the daughter who speaks excellent English told me, her parents felt bad for sending me away and therefore wanted to invite me for food. Not only food btw they also gave me drinks, let me try their grappa.
I was honestly close to tears as I was so overwhelmed with gratitude. I will make it up to them for sure, but they just said - „next time you‘re in Albania bring your parents and friends to us“.
I just can recommend anyone to visit this place. It has not given me an incredible authentic view into fresh authentic Albanian food, but also made me excited about humanity as the family owning this restaurant is a true treasure.
And from the bottom of my...
Read moreLocated in the heart of Tragjas, Vlore, Rrepet e Izvorit is a beautiful property that uses farm-fresh ingredients with warm hospitality. This family-run establishment has a rustic and vintage charm, making it a must-visit for food lovers and families.
As you step onto this property, you’re greeted by beautiful village scenery, a bunch of geese who seem to be enjoying the fresh and clear drinking water that runs down the creek, and friendly chickens. The tables are set simply and beautifuly on the edge of the creek, making the whole experience inviting and relaxing. It’s the kind of place where you feel instantly at home.
The Farm-to-Table Feast begins with fresh salads, cheeses and tasty olives. You will then have the choice of having chicken served with pasta or rice pilaf, or indulge in the tender and tasty goat meat served with oven baked potatoes. Our recommendation: Get both 🙂! This will go down very well with home made raki or the red wine made from the Dukat winery, not too far from Tragjas. In the end, the host will serve revani (also known as hasude), a simple and very tasty homemade desert.
What truly sets Rrepet e Izvorit apart is the genuine warmth of the family behind it. From the moment you arrive, you’re treated like an honored guest. Wife, husband and their two kids will personally ensure that you have a great time.
Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or simply craving delicious foods, Rrepet e Izvorit delivers, leaving you with memorable memories.

Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at this family-run Albanian restaurant with a group of 11, and we were blown away by the experience. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was exceptional. They went above and beyond to accommodate our large group, making us feel warmly welcomed. The food was absolutely delicious, offering an authentic taste of traditional Albanian cuisine. Each dish was packed with flavor and beautifully presented, and the complementary tea and sweets at the end were the perfect finish to a fantastic meal.
The outdoor area was equally impressive—beautifully arranged and a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the food. We had a wonderful evening and will definitely be returning. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience the best of Albanian hospitality and...
