I recently had the pleasure of dining at Bones Steakhouse, located conveniently within a hotel just minutes from Tirana International Airport. This restaurant is a fantastic option if you’re looking for a stress-free, enjoyable meal before catching a flight. Despite its proximity to the main road leading to the airport, the atmosphere is surprisingly peaceful and relaxing.
During the summer months, the restaurant’s beautiful pool is a popular attraction. But now, in the off-season, they’ve transformed the area next to the pool into a well-designed playground for kids. This thoughtful setup allowed my wife and me to enjoy a delicious lunch while keeping an eye on our children playing outside. The restaurant’s large windows offer great views of both the playground and the pool, making it perfect for families.
The food at Bones Steakhouse is exceptional. Tirana is known for its high culinary standards, and this restaurant does not disappoint. I had a steak that was perfectly cooked and complemented by calamari, truffle potatoes, grilled vegetables, and a fresh salad. Everything was flavorful and well-prepared—nothing left me disappointed.
To top it off, I enjoyed a glass of house wine that was fantastic. The night before, I had dinner at one of my usual spots in the city and ended up with a terrible glass of wine. So, finding a quality wine here was a pleasant surprise.
Another standout feature of Bones Steakhouse is the sheer convenience of its location. Even with a bit of traffic, it took just seven minutes from the restaurant to my terminal. Anyone familiar with Tirana knows that traffic can be a nightmare, especially when heading to the airport. Having a place so close where you can relax, eat well, and enjoy a calm atmosphere before a flight is incredibly valuable.
I highly recommend Bones Steakhouse, whether you’re heading to the airport or just looking for a high-quality dining experience. From what I’ve heard, it’s also popular for coffee by the pool, which I can imagine would be a perfect way to unwind. Great food, attentive service, and a serene environment despite its location—Bones Steakhouse has earned itself a...
Read moreDisappointing Service and Inconsistent Food Quality
I visited Bones three times in two days — lunch yesterday, dinner yesterday, and lunch today. Unfortunately, each time the service was consistently slow and unprofessional.
From the moment you arrive, it takes around 15 minutes before anyone comes to your table, even when the restaurant is not full. Bringing the menu takes a long time, and so do the orders. Even simple drinks like water or a Coke take at least 15 minutes to arrive. No one checks if you want another drink, and you feel forgotten once the order is placed.
Food: • On the first day, we ordered tempura shrimp (very good) and tzatziki (also very good). • I also had the picanha steak, ordered medium rare. Unfortunately, it was served on a very hot plate, still cooking when it arrived. By the time I started eating, it had turned into medium/medium-well. The meat was overcooked, tough, and hard to chew — nothing like the quality promised on the menu. I sent it back, but even the second attempt was disappointing. At nearly €29 (or 2,900 lek), it was not worth the price and I would not order it again. • In the evening, we tried pasta, which tasted fine, but it was poorly presented — for example, a pasta dish with three shrimp heads but only two actual shrimps is not acceptable in a hotel restaurant of this level.
Overall: Some dishes are good, but the service is slow and inconsistent. The picanha is a definite no, but the pasta or risotto might be okay. For a hotel restaurant, I expected much higher standards, both in food quality and service speed. Sadly, I cannot recommend this place based on my...
Read moreThe place looks very nice, unfortunately, the service is not up to the level of the building. Everything started perfectly, until we finished our dishes, then it took ages to have someone taking them out, and we had to insist to have some desert… the waiter told us that he was not sure we would like the ice cream because they had it for a very long time… In the end, no one came for the bill, we had to go to the counter, where the barman did not even looked at us, too busy chatting on his phone. When someone names Taulan actually came, we kindly asked to split the bill in two shares. Which is extremely easy and usually convenient. But no he told us that the only possible way was to charge item by item and divide this way. Which was a big lie, that he tried to hide when the splitting option appeared on his computer and he tried to get rid of the visual as hard as he could. He did not even said thank you and goodbye when leaving…
The food was nice but not amazing when considering the much higher prices compared to other restaurants in here,...
