This place is outstanding. If you visit Berat by car and don‘t come to this place, you‘ve missed one of Berat‘s greatest attractions. By no surprise, most of the locals know this restaurant very well. This is the typical place, where you wonder if you want or keep it a secret hidden gem for yourself or if you share it with other travelers and risk that it becomes touristy… The owner learned his business in Italy. He came back in 2005 to get settled in his home country, buy some land, build an organic farm and set up the „Kodra e Gjelbër“ restaurant. The food is extraordinary in its variety, presentation, ingenuity, quality and taste. There is only one set menu available that features starters, cheese, bread, salad, eggplant stew, stuffed zucchini flowers, a selection of meat, burek and many other delicacies that I probably forgot to list. You will not leave the place hungry - that much is for sure :-) Wash it down with some homemade walnut liquor and say hi to the friendly staff from us - we love the place, #1 foodie experience...

We had lunch at this fantastic restaurant, and I have to say, it exceeded all expectations. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a perfect blend of modern elegance and cozy comfort. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home.

Now, the food… absolutely phenomenal! Every dish was a true work of art, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The ingredients were fresh and perfectly cooked, with just the right balance of seasoning. I highly recommend the [qofte, vieneza], which was outstanding.

And I won’t even start talking about the dessert – it was the perfect ending to an unforgettable lunch.
