I absolutely hate leaving negative reviews and have waited over a week to leave this review.
We were in Albania for 2 days while transiting from Greece to Montenegro. We stayed at a beautiful hotel nearby and were recommended to check out agrotourism restaurants in the area
The first night we went to a competitor closebt (I won't name the place because this review isn't about that place). We had a phenomenal experience.
We were the first group of people at this restaurant the evening we went. Around 19:30. The staff were friendly. The view was amazing and the facility was very well designed. We loved it.
We ordered lightly. We had 2 small children. Our salads and appetizers were decent actually. No complaints.
Our main courses were the full chicken and 300g of pork sausage. I am far from a foodie but the chicken was super chewy and overcooked. The same applies to the sausages. I believe they were cooked the day before and reheated
I was extremely disappointed. We barely ate the chicken.
I didn't ask for any discount. Our bill ended up being more than the previous night as well which was also disheartening.
Maybe we went on an off night. I'm not sure how these situations are handled in Albania. We are from Canada with European roots. In Canada I would have asked for a replacement meal but I did not feel comfortable.
We paid the bill and went on our way. Our family still enjoyed the atmosphere but we ended up buying pizza back at the hotel unfortunately.
We hope you have a better meal...
Read moreWe arrived on a Wednesday afternoon at 2pm to the restaurant mostly to ourselves, finding seats overlooking the lake. We are greeted with fresh Pomegranate juice and a bottle of chilled water. We received a generous mixed salad, with the freshest of tomatoes.
We had the appetisers for one: four cheeses, fig, pickles, olives, including a sour cream cheese. Fresh bread selection; 3 varieties. Then came three pies with shallot, one spinach and one leek I think, all amazing, we feel spoiled!
We had goat for the main course, tender and dripping off the bone. Possibly the best we have ever had! Also a serving for one and it was very generous. House white was delicious. Service was super, and friendly. She even explained the dish names in both English and Albanian. We recognised a couple staff from our visit last year, nice to see the same faces.
Desert arrived on the house and it was delicious, words won't do it justice. The homemade...
Read moreAbsolutely incredible experience! This restaurant in Albania is a true hidden gem. All the produce is sourced locally, and you can taste the freshness in every dish with traditional recipes that would make locals reminisce total came out to less than €20 per person and I’m struggling to walk to my car while writing this the portions where extremely healthy with us packaging left overs to take home. The service is warm, attentive, and extremely respectful. To top it all off, the views are breathtaking, with birds nesting nearby and a lake full of ducks and fish that make the setting feel even more alive and special. I’ve been coming to Albania yearly for 15+ years and I struggle to remember a nicer meal I’ve had I don’t usually write reviews but this place is special....
